Flying Ace Michelada
A WHISKEY-CENTRIC, SLIGHTLY SPICY MICHELADA.
- 2 oz Flying Ace Straight Bourbon
- 1.5 oz Clamato Original Tomato Cocktail
- .25 oz hot sauce
- .25 oz lime juice
- 1 bar spoon worcestershire sauce
- Modelo, to top
- Tajin, garnish
Rim a pint glass with Tajin and fill with ice. Add Flying Ace Straight Bourbon, Clamato Original Tomato Cocktail, hot sauce, lime juice, worcestershire sauce and stir. Top with Modelo.
Spicy Ginger Whiskey Sour
A CLASSIC COCKTAIL EASILY SPICED WITH GINGER.
- 2 oz Flying Ace Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- .75 oz ginger syrup
- Dash of Angostura bitters
FOR THE GINGER SYRUP:
Peel and grate a 4-inch piece of ginger. Mix with equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat until sugar dissolves and then strain out the ginger pieces.
FOR THE COCKTAIL:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with a slice of ginger and a lemon wheel.
Spicy Whiskey Margarita
A RIFF ON THE CLASSIC MARGARITA, WITH WHISKEY AND A HEALTHY HELPING OF JALAPEÑO.
- 2 oz Flying Ace Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- .75 oz jalapeño simple syrup
- Salt for rimming the glass
FOR THE JALAPEÑO SIMPLE SYRUP:
Combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves. Add sliced jalapeño peppers (with seeds if you want it spicier) and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain out the jalapeño pieces and let cool.
FOR THE COCKTAIL:
Rim a glass with salt, then combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into the salt-rimmed glass over ice, and garnish with a lime wedge and jalapeño slice.
Sprinkle of Lime
A TANGY AND SPICY COCKTAIL FEATURING TAJIN SPICE.
- 2 oz Flying Ace Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- .5 oz agave syrup
- .5 tsp Tajin seasoning
- Club soda
- Lime wheel, garnish
- Tajin seasoning, garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add Flying Ace Straight Bourbon Whiskey, lime juice, agave syrup, and Tajin seasoning to the shaker. Shake well until chilled. Rim a Collins glass with Tajin seasoning by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it in the seasoning. Fill the glass with ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass and top with club soda. Stir gently to combine. Garnish with a lime wheel and a sprinkle of Tajin seasoning.
Hot Blooded
A TURN-UP-THE-HEAT COCKTAIL WITH MATURE RED POBLANO CHILES.
- 2 oz Flying Ace Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- .5 oz Ancho Reyes ancho chile liqueur
- .5 oz blood orange juice, freshly squeezed
- .5 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed
- .5 oz simple syrup
- 4 dashes hot sauce
- Blood orange twist, garnish
- Lime twist, garnish
Add Flying Ace Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Ancho Reyes liqueur, blood orange juice, lime juice, simple syrup and hot sauce into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a blood orange twist and lime twist, optionally cut into heart shapes and skewered.
